College Essay Topic - Writing Your Own Essay

College Essay Topic - Writing Your Own EssayIf you are looking for a college essay topic, there are many things to consider. What sort of person are you? Where do you want to go?There are many ways to find the right college essay topic. Do you know what writers call a 'word puzzle'? The writer selects words and phrases and makes the puzzle even more difficult by leaving out words or phrases. This increases the difficulty of the piece. To see what ideas you can work with, ask yourself some important questions such as: what is your research question? Which school(s) would you like to go to? What are your interests? Which major(s) would you like to pursue? Finally, what area of study interests you the most? You need to figure out which topic will interest you best. Or, you may think, there is too much to do for a student, so why should I have to write an essay.Since I have had numerous students come to me with the same problem, I have found that the best topic for them is the topic they a re least interested in pursuing. For example, I have found that a study of the human imagination has almost as much literary value as a dissertation on history. Although students who choose a research topic that is 'boring' usually become bored with the topic and are unable to move on, those who choose a topic that they are really interested in tend to write interesting essays. But how do you figure out which topic is the right one for you?A common essay topic is the classic, but it is extremely important to be specific in your topic selection. A dissertation topic may be 'A History of Mergers and Acquisitions', while a research topic may be 'How Our Private Jet Flew South,' so be careful when choosing your topic. You must be careful to narrow down your topic from the usual, but not too narrow. You don't want to write about every aspect of your favorite subject but also ignore a lot of other things that are related to your topic. After writing the essay and submitting it, your goal i s to have a big research paper to be read by the admissions committee. It takes a lot of planning and patience before you can be sure that your essay is correct. Although your first draft may be good, it takes a lot of editing to make it so. If you take the time to learn all of the academic terminology and to plan your essay properly, your essay will not only be appealing to the admissions committee, but you will be on your way to earning your undergraduate degree.
